Week of March 22-28

3/22/25

Such a fun class with this father and sons! Kevin, Mark, and John came from Ohio for their first knifemaking class. They learned a lot and we all had a fun morning!

3/23/25

Fun morning with Dana, Rich, and Alyson! Dana and Rich were two of our biggest helpers last year, bringing meals and being willing to do whatever I needed help with. So it was fun to have them in the forge today. All three of them did a great job with their knives! This was Dana and Alyson's first time. Rich has been here a couple times, so he was ablento get more creative and made a woodworking marking tool.

3/23/25

Nancy is another smart person who took advantage of the special "Wine Not? Wine Fest". She brought her sister, Karen, and daughter, Mollie, to the forge today to forge their first knives! They made beautiful Railroad Spike Knives! Super shiny, and sharp!

3/23/25

Louis and Chris were back tonight to finish their Billet Knives! These turned out gorgeous!

3/25/25

Matthew was back this afternoon and brought his daughter! They made beautiful Steel Roses!

3/25/25

Lauren and her son were back tonight! She brought her daughter, (twin) sister, and nieces to the forge to make Magic Wands! Very very fun class, and everyone did great! The general goal was magic wands "as long as humanly possible" -- and that was (mostly) achieved!

3/26/25

It's Teresa's birthday! She brought her daughter to the forge today to make Steel Flowers! It was the first time in the forge for both of them. They did great and were a lot of fun!

3/26/25

Jillian brought her younger brother and sister to the forge yesterday to make Railroad Spike Knives. We must be in our Shiny Era, because these could be seen from space!

3/27/25

The finish line is in sight for the swords for the Level 2: 14-17 yr olds homeschool class! They just have to make it through the hardest part--guards! They all did really good work today. And now believe me when I said hammering was the easiest part of swordmaking.

3/27/25

Forced Family Fun! Ok so maybe not forced Great family in this afternoon to celebrate so many birthdays! They were fantastic...and really fast! They made beautiful knives too!

3/27/25

3/28/25

Craig and his wife, Carrie, brought their sons and grandson to the forge tonight to make Railroad Spike Knives! Craig saw a friend make knives with us a few weeks ago and thought it'd be fun for his family. They all really did a great job! Hammered the shapes out beautifully. Grinded perfect cutting edges. And finish sanded them to super shiny! And the youngest squire even cleaned up for us with the magnet on a stick! They were a great family, and I think we will see them again!
